St. Michael School

At St. Michael School, every day we are called to be a community bonded by the Father's love, anchored in the charity of Jesus and guided by the wisdom of the Spirit as we nurture and educate each child placed in our care.
Every day we will teach each child in our care the importance of their relationship with God so that they will carry that relationship with them into tomorrow's society.
Every day we will educate the whole child and focus on giving them the strength of character to excel spiritually, academically, socially, and physically in the spirit of Christian charity.
Every day we will foster a better understanding of Catholic Doctrine, the development of a personal relationship with God and the importance of becoming an active member of the Church community.
Every day we will encourage a love of learning and the development of habits and attitudes that promote personal growth within the spirit of community.
Every day we will cultivate a desire to excel at gathering knowledge, thinking critically, solving problems, and communicating effectively.

Saint Michael School is so much more than a school. It is a community and a family. From their very first days here, children feel connected and nurtured. It is a very loving and safe environment. Small classes allow teachers to know each student individually. They cater to their strengths, while closing the gaps on weaker areas. Children here form strong characters based on Catholic values of respect, humility and service to others. Academically, our students excel in all the top private high schools in the area, as well as public high schools. Our student body is diverse and vibrant. There are countless extra-curricular programs, such as sports teams, drama, music and scouting. This is a wonderful place for your child to become all God calls them to be.

The best money I ever spent was sending my children to St. Michael's; I invested in their education and it paid off. My oldest child graduated and is taking honors classes in high school. Aside from academics, the school provided excellent track and drama programs (amongst other extracurricular activities), state of the art computer and science labs and art and language programs. The icing on the cake was the nurturing and supportive environment that encouraged not only academic learning, but personal growth as well.

Love the community feel and the faith based learning, respect, kindness and leadership that the kids are taught and encourage among each other. I was specially impressed when my son first started how older kids knew his name and he knew them; I had never seen that anywhere. Besides top education they really do focus on building their faith as they get older. I have heard many times that "you can tell which kids are from St Michael's by their manners and how respectful they are" never seen that anywhere else.

St. Michael School is truly a community. Children learn and grow in a supportive, faith-based environment. The small class size and student:teacher ratio enables the children to thrive as the faculty knows each of them personally. Both of my children have attended the school since Pre K 3. My older child recently graduated and was well prepared for High School.

St. Michael School in Cranford is a great place to send your children to school. We have been a part of the SMS family for nine years. It has truly been a pleasure to not only have my children succeed academically but also to see them involved and successful in school activities such as Drama, Track, Forensics, Scholastic Olympics, Girl Scouts and Band. SMS has assisted in making my children well-rounded individuals both spiritually and civically. St. Michael School is an inclusive environment with small class sizes where teachers truly care for their students.

What an amazing school and learning environment. My daughter loves it. Loves her teachers, who takes their time to care and help her learn in every way. I am a believer that if you have a solid early education with catholic views and values, it will enrich your life as you become an adult. That is definitely SMS. All the teachers know all the students even if they are not in their class. Everyone is so helpful, and it makes a difference. Teachers that love what they do and students who love being there to learn. Great combination. Thank you SMS.

I love St. Michael's School. My two children both started in Pre-K 4, and I've been very happy with the school's academics. Class sizes are small, so students get a lot of attention from the teachers. The teachers are dedicated to fostering students' moral development as well. The sense of community is wonderful.

Having three children at St. Michael's, and being an alumni as well, I have a lot of experience with SMS! There is so much to love- the upper grades partner with the little ones for Church, help them at lunch and walk them to their classrooms in the morning. There is a real atmosphere of caring and compassion. I am regularly impressed by the manners and respect the students show, as well as how caring they are toward each other. Those are the things that make me happy to write a tuition check, as I know it is worth every penny.

I have 4 children who attend or have graduated from Saint Michael School. The faith based environment is second to none. Academically our children excel. My children who have graduated have gone on to the top private schools in the area into their honors programs. The class sizes are small, the children polite, faithful, and kind. Integrity, accountability and fairness are part of the core values taught here every day. Our children have the privilege of faith filled learning on all levels across all academic subjects. This is a community with a diverse population, which provides great exposure to our students. Saint Michael School offers sports programs, scouting, drama, student government, instrumental music instruction, as well as before and after care services all in one building.
